The cherry blossom season 2024 is coming to an end. At the last of the season, Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry tree ) are beautifully blooming.
While Someiyoshino cherry trees, which account for 80% of cherry blossoms in Japan, have whitish pink flowers, Yaezakura cherry blossoms are darker pink, and they start blooming about two weeks later than Someiyoshino cherry trees.
In Sapporo, flowers of Yaezakura are now in full bloom here and there.
