Shinto shrine is one-of-a-kind religious entity in Japan.
At any of the Shinto shrines, you can see a water basin to purify yourself by washing your hands and rinse your mouth before presenting yourself to deity, which is known as TEMIZUYA.

In recent years, many of the Shinto shrines perform HANATEMIZU that the colorful flowers are displayed over the water of the basin.

It seems to originate to avoid COVID infection when it started. However, since then, HANATEMIZU has been practiced regularly after the fear of COVID is gone.
If you are lucky, you can come across beautiful HANATEMIZU that is performed about a week or so every month at one of the Shinto shrines.

The images are HANATEMIZU at Otaru Sumiyoshi Shinto Shrine where is popular as a spiritual site.
